Hi Ken is it at all possible to allow a clip to be used with the current selected colour rather than the one the clip is generated in?
I ask this because I have some water brushes as clips and by using the directional rotate ( rotate b-angle clips) they follow the brush direction pretty well. I have tried to emulate this in a brush using Ubshape of the image but unless I'm missing something I can't get it to follow the stroke direction in the same way
or can a brush effect be added that will allow a smooth rotation of the brush to follow the stroke direction whicj would be useful for many brushes
Clips are treated differently then pure shapes and can't be colorized n the same same.
However, if you only need the shape (outline) of the clip you can use the Shape Brush effect as shown here:

Directional rotate should work the same for all brushes. Can you share your brush code you are having an issue with?
Thanks Ken the shape brush doesn't paint the same way the clip brush does with direction turned on see below
bshape etc paints in the same way as well
I did overcome it to a degree by using colorize on each layer after using the clip brush
a very crude example below
I am at a loss as to why the image/shape doesn't orient itself in the same way it does with the clip brush and rotate to follow the brush stroke
a more considered effort but still not fully happy with the result
Excellent my friend just the job it does everything I wanted ...Thanks a bunch....I really must get a grip on the brush engine I've been very lazy keeping up to date as the envelopes have developed
