tried it and all ok

Dave

As you can see from my other posts I've been having problems with brush codes.
Was there any reason for posting this?
The brush code is not overwriting the selection in the edit pane. It just copies this brush.

Hi Thomas Derek,
I don't quite understand your problem..
Repeat my actions from the video and tell at which stage you have trouble.

Hi Surov
Thanks for such an entertaining video. Very clear and precise. Apart for the one Russian dialog box I understood everything.
The problem is that the brush is not appearing in the brush selection box on the left when I import the code.
When I try to place it in an artset, it copies that brush and not the new brush. What I get is a strange combination of both, or a 'ghost' version of it.
Hope you understand.
Thanks

Hi Thomas,
> Apart for the one Russian dialog box I understood everything.

This is standard in all languages dialog "right click": "Copy" to clipboard.

> Hope you understand.

Unfortunately not yet understand.

I know only one reason for this "ghost" - version mismatch.
Please check the version of TB:
Menu > Help > About...

Additionally, Please do:
Screen Capture before import code
Screen Capture after import code
and posted here.

How to make Screen Captures:
1. Menu > View > Toggle Brush Effects (or Button, see attached)
2. Menu > Edit > Screen Capture As New Image...
3. Import of Brush Codes,
4. Menu > Edit > Screen Capture As New Image...
5. Save both Screen Captures...
Menu > File > Save Image to File (JPG or PNG)

See examples (which I got).

PS. In addition...
Try to paste the copied Brush Code into any text editor, such as Notebook.
Code must be an unbroken!

Hi Surov
It appears that the code is copying correctly but it is not being transferred to the artset. All it does is copy a brush from an existing artset or duplicates an existing brush in the artset I am copying it to.
Unfortunately a screen capture doesn't show this. It is an internal problem.
Perhaps I should re-install.
Thanks for your help

Sorry to be repetitive but I've just re-installed TB, a second copy, and the brush code import is definitely not working.
It does not behave as shown in the users guide in that it does not overwrite the brush in the brush panel. All I get is a copy of the brush it is supposed to overwrite.
What now

Surov, my friend.
You seem to be the only one responding at this time but I've tried everything as you suggest, both items 1 & 2 on your last message and install a second copy of TB.
Guess what....same story!
I just can't import a new brush code?
Should I un-install the lot and start again. Pity since I might lose my settings but I suppose I could copy these or back-up somehow.
If TB ran in Linux I wouldn't have all this trouble.
All the best my Russian bear..lol

Hi Thomas,
I'm sure at some point Ken will be able to answer and will help you.

For my part, I have exhausted all ideas. And, unfortunately, can't help you.
I just did not have such problems and I can not reproduce them

Now you can store all your brushes, images, and settings..
..\Pixarra\TwistedBrush\globaleffects.cfg
..\Pixarra\TwistedBrush\quickcommand.cfg
..\Pixarra\TwistedBrush\TwistedBrush.env
..\Pixarra\TwistedBrush\artsets\...
..\Pixarra\TwistedBrush\book1\...
..\Pixarra\TwistedBrush\book2\...
...

All the best to my friend! LOL :)

Many thanks Surov.
You've been a big help.
Best Wishes

Hi All,

With the kind permission of Thomas
(And for convenient search on the forum if you encounter similar problems)
I conclude this topic with a reference to a real solution to the problem:
